Sir Henry Morgan; Buccaneer, or Pirate?         

A Welshman who was knighted by Charles II, made Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica, elected as Admiral of his own fleet and even had a rum named after him. 

 

 

Part 1 & 2

Morgan's arrival in Jamaica and his commission to plunder Cuba; Morgan gathers a fleet and sails to Cuba before attacking Puerto Del Principe.

Part 3 & 4

Dissatisfied with the amount of gold captured, Morgan next attacks Puerto Bello; Morgan returns to Port Royal, Governor Modyford give him new commission, explosion on Morgan's flagship, the attack on Marcaibo.

 Part 5 & 6

The sacking of Gibraltar: The inhabitants are tortured, Morgan gains information that enables him to capture a Spanish ship and four heavily laden boats.

Part 7 & 8

The battle with three Spanish men-of-war, Morgan's use of a fire ship; The attack on the Spanish fortress.

Part 9 & 10

Morgan's negotiations to escape from the lake are rebuffed by Don Aloso. So Morgan find another way to escape; Back to Port Royal with the treasure, Morgan Gathers a new fleet and sets off with twelve hundred men for the city of Panama.

Part 11 & 12

The Battle against the defenders of Panama, the sacking and burning of the city and the eventual return to Chagre.

 Morgan's arrest on his return and transportation to England, he is knighted by Charles II, promoted to Lieutenant Governor and returns to Jamaica where he eventually dies in 1688.
