705AD. Osred - Northumbria
705AD. Osred I, son of Aeldfrith became king at the age of nine with the backing of Earldorman Berhtfrith and Bishop Wilfrid.
709AD. Death of Bishop Wilfred.
711AD. Earldorman Berhtfrith acting on the kings behalf inflicted a crushing defeat on the Picts.
715AD. Osred I reached his majority and was said to have enjoyed a life of debauchery. Killing or exiling nobles and even having sexual relation with nuns.
716AD. Osred I’s behaviour probably was what caused his distant cousin, Coenred and his brother Ostric to assassinate him. That and the fact that Coenred conveniently took up the crown after him.
