Why not try this tasty recipe? (to serve 4)
1 marrow
1½ pints of water
4 oz of cooked chicken
1 small onion peeled and chop finely
1 small pepper or half as large one, cored and deseeded
1 one tablespoon of sunflower oil
4 oz of chopped mushrooms
½ pint of chicken stock
1 table spoon of cornflour
½ oz of butter
Salt and pepper
Cut marrow into rings1½ inches thick, peel and remove seeds.
Lay rings in the bottom of a casserole dish, add water and cover.
Place casserole in oven, Gas 4, 350° F, 180° C to cook while you prepare the filling.
Cut chicken into small pieces
Cut pepper into slices
heat oil in a large pan and fry chopped onion and sliced pepper until soft.
Add chopped mushroom and pieces of turkey to the pan and stir over a low heat for 4 minutes.
Add in chopped tomatoes and continue to stir for 3 to 4 minutes.
Mix cornflour with a tablespoon of stock
and add to the rest of the stock.
Add stock to the turkey mixture add salt and pepper to taste
and stir over a low heat until it starts to thicken a little.
Remove casserole dish from oven, drain off liquid, fill the rings
with the turkey mix, add a spot of butter to each,
Cover the casserole dish again and cook in the oven for another
